3D Printer, Bambu Labs P1S & AMS

The P1S printer was released July of 2023. I purchased this P1S in Oct 2023 (2 years ago). It’s a fully enclosed printer (which improves cooling/heating) and it can be used in conjunction with the AMS unit (which I purchased later).

Bambu Labs classes the ‘P’ series printers as “Accessible performance 3D printers offering speed, reliability and ease of use for user at entry level.” The P1S has removed a lot of the old black magic that was associated with 3D printing.

AMS Automatic Material System. It can hold 4 Reels of filament. During a print it can, when programmed, change to another one of the 3 reels and continue printing. It can do this as many times as required. Bambu Labs filament has a marker within the reel. This marker is read by the AMS unit and changes the settings in Bambu Studio software to suit the new filament reel.

This P1S and AMS combination has been very reliable. It remains unchanged, it is as it was purchased, I have made no changes. I did make/print a filament junction and added it to the printer. This junction allows a 5th filament reel to be used, but it is not automatic. This I used with TPU filament.
I tend to print with PETG which withstands the outdoor climate better than PLA. I have numerous items, gadgets, photos, jigs scattered about my house and garden which have been 3D printed.
I will replace the Bambu Labs P1S, with the recently launched Bambu Labs P2S printer, which I have now purchased.

I live in Drongan which is just outside Ayr, in East Ayrshire. I would much prefer that the buyer collects the printer and AMS (and save you £20 on P&P).
