Children's STEM Instructors / Club Leaders – Part-Time

£16 per hour | Bromley, Beckenham & Bexley

Young Engineers Bromley is looking for confident, enthusiastic and reliable STEM Instructors / Club Leaders to join our team and lead our children's engineering sessions.

Our classes introduce children aged 6–14 to engineering and STEM concepts through fun, hands-on model building. This is a practical, energetic role and would suit someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and is comfortable taking responsibility for a group.

No engineering degree or specialist STEM background is required. Full training, structured lesson plans and equipment are provided.

The Role

You will:


Lead engaging Young Engineers sessions for children aged 6–14



Explain activities and engineering concepts in an age-appropriate way



Support children while they build mechanical models and complete challenges



Manage groups confidently and maintain a positive and safe environment



Set up and pack away equipment before and after sessions



Work alongside an assistant where provided



Communicate professionally with parents, schools and venue staff



Take responsibility for the smooth running of each session

Comfortable leading and managing groups of children



A clear and confident communicator



Able to work independently and take responsibility for sessions



Interested in a reliable, longer-term part-time position



Able to travel between our Bromley and Beckenham venues



Experience

Previous experience working with children is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Relevant experience may include:


Teaching or teaching assistant work



After-school clubs



Holiday camps



Coaching



Tutoring



Childcare



Youth or community work



Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is confident, enthusiastic and comfortable engaging with and leading groups of children.

A driving licence and access to a car would be advantageous.

Hours & Pay

Pay: £16 per hour + mileage

Part-time hours, primarily during:


Weekday afternoons / after-school hours



Some daytime sessions



Some Saturdays



Additional opportunities during school holidays
