Selling our collections (hoards) of mostly French vintage items that have been acquired over many years until finally we have no room for more!

Part of our collection of French kitchenalia, we got this from a vide maison at Bethune in the Nord region.
It’s a sturdy kitchen hanging rail and drip tray in copper with a repousse (pressed from behind) French Coq standing on a branch design and a brass rail.
According to the owner it dates to around the 1970s and had been hung in a country kitchen in a house in the Dordogne before they sold it.
(Note: no utensils or anything else are included, any photographed are to show scale only).
Now a little worn but still very bright and with a nice patina this is still functional and also makes a great decorative piece of French kitchenalia.

In very good vintage condition with some wear, scratches, tarnishing and staining consistent with age and use - please examine photographs carefully for condition.

The copper is quite thick and a little worn but still intact and sound with no holes or damage - see photos.
It is of sturdy construction with just a little flex to the backplate.
There is a repousse design to the backplate of a French Coq which is well defined and intricate in form along with a relief trim to the edges.
There are two hanging holes to the top and one above the drip tray for wall mounting.
The brass hanging rail is strong and sound and secured by copper rivets.
The drip tray is a little stained but intact with no holes.
The rear is a little worn but sound.
I can find no maker’s mark.

Measures approximately:
49 cm tall,
37 cm long,
9 cm wide/deep,
Weighs about 1.7 kg.
