Some Mediterranean cultures eg Turkish Cypriots have a custom called 'Tutsu' where burning olive leaves is a symbolic act for warding off the evil eye and protecting people in the house from harm.
Olive leaves are also used to make teas and used in traditional remedies as they are believed to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and other beneficial properties
Can be used as a tick ground cover 'mulch' ot conserve moisture in the soil and suppress weeds etc. Olive leaves are fairly long lasting as the leaves are quite oily and take time to rot down.
