Description

16cm tall plants and in 8cm pots with good root growth. Ready for planting into 20cm pots.

Key Care Guidelines
1. Temperature & Humidity
Long chillies require warmth to thrive. Maintain daytime temperatures around 25°C and do not let night-time drops go below 15°C. Protect plants from extreme heat (over 40°C), as this can cause flowers to drop off and stop fruit production.

2. Watering
Do not overwater: Soil should be moist but never waterlogged. Constantly wet soil will lead to root rot and can dilute the heat in your chillies. Let the top 2cm to 3cm of soil dry out between waterings.

3. Soil & Potting
Use a well-draining, peat-free potting mix. If growing in containers, mature long-chilli plants will need final pots that are at least 22cm (9inches) to 30cm wide to accommodate their root systems and support up to 100cm of vertical growth.

4. Feeding
Chillies are hungry plants. After potting, start feeding them weekly with a dedicated liquid fertilizer—such as a tomato feed. This formula has the correct ratios of potassium to support flowering and fruiting without excess nitrogen overgrowth.

5. Harvesting & Maintenance
Many long chilli varieties (like the Longhorn) can grow up to 100cm tall and have heavy fruit. You may need to provide a small cane or plant support to prevent them from snapping in the wind.
For the deepest flavor and maximum heat, harvest your chillies when they are fully ripe and colored (e.g., green to red) by cutting the stems with clean shears rather than pulling them.

I only have 2 plants so 1st come, 1st served.
