John Broadwood & Sons Upright c1975 warm coloured wood finish modern piano tuned

Description

Nice piano from the highly regarded English maker. By appointment to HM. Has a decent tone and touch. Schwander action which are good. Should see you through most of the grades. Very clean internals and felts with no rot or mold. Bridle tapes excellent (see picture 12).

Fairly modern model with serial number 267502 dating it to c1975. Only around 500 of these were made during the 1970s which is quite low by standards. Similar to Bluthners manufacturing which are quite exclusive. In a fairly warm orange like light colour. Possibly Teak (common for the era) or even Mahogany as the panels are suprisingly heavy! Pictures showing hammers exposed are probably best depiction of true case colour.

Has been recently tuned to concert pitch and is all working fine as it should be. Tuning pins are in good order and tight in the plank so holds tune well. Soundboard nice and clean with no splits (see last photo). Originally sold by Millers of Cambridge. A very reputable and long standing piano showroom which has been going since the 1850s!

I'm a piano teacher and do some small time trade in pianos so these are all guaranteed against any faults for peace of mind. Such as loose tuning pins/ broken strings/ cracks in soundboard or iron plate/ problems with bridges/ pedal functionality etc.
