Senior Planning and Highways Lawyer

Rate: £50-£60 per hour - Negotiable DOE

Contract Length: 3-6-month initial contract

Spencer Clarke Group are working in collaboration with a southeast based local authority who are seeking an experienced Senior Lawyer to join their Planning and Highways Legal Team.

In this role, you will manage a varied and high-profile caseload, advising on planning and highway agreements, countryside and highways enforcement, and minerals and waste planning matters, often working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct a range of highways and planning agreements, securing significant benefits for residents.

Advise clients on highways, countryside and planning law, including enforcement options on complex and high-profile matters.

Provide advice on:

General highways and planning law

Planning enforcement

Public Rights of Way

Be involved in section 78 TCPA 1990 appeals and draft associated section 106 agreements.

Key Requirements

Qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEX, eligible to practise in England and Wales with a current practising certificate.

Recent and relevant experience in highways and planning law.

Experience of providing clear, accurate and practical legal advice to a wide range of clients.
