The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the accounts function, ensuring client and office accounts are processed correctly, reconciliations are completed and financial records are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Complete bank reconciliations and monitor outstanding or out-of-date cheques.

Process, allocate and post incoming electronic and manual receipts.

Manage client and office account payments, including CHAPS, cheque and credit card transactions.

Process client-to-office transfers and payments through internet banking systems.

Check and post bills, purchase ledger invoices and office disbursements.

Process monthly staff expenses and manage petty cash payments and reconciliations.

Ensure all client account transactions comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules.

Maintain accurate financial records and prepare Excel spreadsheets as required.

Respond to accounts-related queries from fee earners, colleagues and external contacts.

Assist with general accounts administration, filing and other duties as required.

Handle sensitive financial information with the highest levels of confidentiality and discretion.

What We're Looking For

Ideally, at least three years' experience in a Legal Cashier, legal accounts or similar finance role.

Recent working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.

Experience using internet banking systems and processing financial transactions.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Experience using a legal case management or accounts system; knowledge of Partner would be advantageous.

Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Good communication skills, with a professional and helpful approach to enquiries.

A team-focused attitude, with the ability to work collaboratively and support colleagues.

The ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking law firm where accuracy, professionalism and teamwork are valued. You will play an important role in supporting the accounts function, ensuring financial transactions are managed efficiently and in line with the firm's regulatory obligations. xjnqpsq
