Legal Cashier - Tunbridge Wells

Salary: £40,000 per annum | Hours: 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday | Hybrid: 60% office / 40% home-based

Our client, a reputable firm in Tunbridge Wells, is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join their Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong cashiering background.

What you will be doing:

* Processing client account receipts, payments, CHAPS, and Faster Payments

* Managing client-to-client and client-to-office transfers

* Posting office account payments, journals, and receipts

* Calculating and processing daily client-to-office transfers

* Completing daily bank reconciliations

* Monitoring shared finance inboxes and resolving queries efficiently

* Acting as a gatekeeper for incoming funds, reviewing transactions for AML and source of funds requirements

* Maintaining accurate audit trails and ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules

* Identifying and escalating potential compliance issues or financial risks

* Supporting colleagues with technical guidance and sharing best practices

What you will bring:

* Solid proven experience working as a Legal Cashier

* Thorough understanding of the SRA Accounts Rules and their practical application

* Experience processing client and office account transactions within a legal environment

* Knowledge of online banking, CHAPS, and Faster Payments

* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

* Confidence to work independently while supporting others

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities

* High levels of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
