Claims Handler

Description

We are currently seeking individuals with a background in legal work or insurance claims for an exciting opportunity as a Legal Expenses Claims Handler, based in Croydon. This role operates on a hybrid basis, with three days in the office and two days working from home.

The team manages After the Event (ATE) claims across a range of areas, including personal injury, clinical negligence, professional negligence, and insolvency.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and managing costs across a wide range of litigation, with a particular focus on personal injury and clinical negligence claims. Your key responsibilities will include:

Providing an efficient claims handling service by responding to claims using excellent written and verbal communication skills

Managing claims from start to conclusion

Accurately recording and maintaining data

Liaising with solicitors and, where required, costs lawyersSkills & experience

Either a legal background or insurance background with knowledge of injury claims and exposure to costs

Previous claims handling experience involving the review and negotiation of legal costs

Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal

Ability to evaluate legal documents accurately and efficiently

Excellent time management skills

Strong analytical skills
