Description
For sale.
They say that quality stands out and this piece screams quality even though its frame and mount have seen much better days.
The reverse is annotated “Belgae trading with Phoenicians about 800 B.C.”
The Belgae were a group of tribes of mixed Celtic and Germanic origin described by Caesar in the mid 1st century BC
It looks as though it may have been an original illustration for a book or Victorian newspaper.
Sadly I no longer have any use for this painting so hope someone sees the potential in it or has information about the artist perhaps?

Collection is from close to Christchurch Park in Ipswich
Clearly this is a vintage item condition as per photos
