Gloverall Classic cranberry 34in; slim-fit, long-length duffle coat 433FC. 80% wool.
Abingdon, Oxfordshire
£95
Description
Gloverall cranberry duffle coat, long, 433FC Slim Fit. (Doorstep pickup only.)
This women's Classic 433 duffle coat in 'Cranberry' is an autumn/winter wardrobe staple. The warm, Italian wool-blend cloth is reinforced by a fixed shoulder cape, with a pancake hood and detachable throat tab providing extra protection against the chill. Signature toggles and leather loop fastenings nod to the original design, as does the double-faced checkback fabric. Please use the 'red v cranberry' colour comparison picture I've attached, for a more accurate depiction of the colour.
Designed for a slim fitting silhouette. (I bought this as a special reward for myself for slimming down from a size 16 to a size 12 but unfortunately the success was short-lived.)
Tartan interior and sturdy fixed shoulder cape. The fixed shoulder cap reinforces the coat and provides extra warmth, while oversized pockets keep hands cosy on cold days.
Pancake hood with detachable throat tab. (Pancake hoods are the sort that lie flat when down.)
Good-sized internal pocket for phone, keys, credit card etc, measuring 16.5 cm x 13 cm and which fastens closed with Velcro.
4 Buffalo horn toggles and leather loop fastenings, and one hefty press stud.
Crafted from an Italian rich wool blend, then made in England, the double-faced cloth has a tartan interior in cranberry, black and white. I have included a comparison in the photographs of Gloverall's 'red' vs 'cranberry'. Their red is rather pillar boxy whereas the cranberry is a more gentle, warm, more subtle version of red.
The equivalent colour ways of this model, selling on their website today, is £399. I bought this 4 or 5 years ago, and it was NOT in a sale - I paid the full price for it.
Not worn very much at all.
The usual light wear that duffle coats get on all the places that are vulnerable to wear being 80% wool. See photos, but mainly edgy bits like parts of the edges of cuffs, rims of outside pockets, handbag rub and parts of the rims of the coat's vertical edges.

This classic duffle coat is crafted from Italian fabric, a warm wool blend and is designed to offer protection from the cold. The design includes fixed shoulder cape, detachable throat tab and pancake hood, all of which help to keep you warm in the winter. Finishing at knee length, you can wear skirts and tights without getting cold legs. Water-resistant and showerproof but not completely waterproof. Gloverall duffle coats are made from an Italian wool blend that is naturally water-resistant due to the waxy substance that sheep naturally secrete called lanolin. Lanolin covers a sheep’s wool and helps to repel the rain which will provide a woollen duffle coat with a certain amount of water resistance. So can be worn in the rain, but not ideal for wearing during a prolonged rainstorm. If it were to get wet, Gloverall's advice is to put it on a hanger and let it drip dry. This duffle coat has not been rained on.
