Hiya, I’m Melly. I’m a wedding celebrant and professional storyteller, based in Plymouth and travelling across the South West and beyond.

I create warm, relaxed and completely personal wedding ceremonies, whether you’re dreaming of something fairly traditional, wonderfully unconventional or you haven’t got the foggiest idea yet.

Because there isn’t a particular way your ceremony should be. Keep the traditions that mean something to you, leave out the ones that don’t, add something completely unexpected if you fancy it. My job is to help you work out what feels right for the two of you and then turn that into a ceremony that feels unmistakably yours.

And I don’t think you can write a meaningful ceremony about two people you barely know. So I don’t.

I take the time to get to know you properly. Not only the where, when and how of your wedding, but who you are together, what makes you laugh, what matters to you and all the little quirks and stories that make your relationship yours.

Then I create your ceremony completely from scratch. It can be funny, moving, wonderfully silly in places or beautifully simple. There’s no template and no expectation that your ceremony has to look or sound like anybody else’s. It should feel like you.

Couples have told me they felt genuinely listened to throughout the process, and guests have asked whether I’d known them for years. That means an enormous amount to me, because that’s exactly what I’m trying to achieve.

I’ll help with your vows, ideas and all those little ceremony decisions you may not even know you need to make yet. You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you want. We work that out together.
