A fantastic large handmade display/storage cabinet, originally commissioned specifically for the Celestial Body Shop circa 1987.
This is a substantial, one-off piece rather than a mass-produced cabinet. The front features 15 individual arched pigeonhole/display compartments with distinctive blue-and-white striped backing, with enclosed cupboard storage to the reverse. Beautiful warm-toned timber and lots of character.
Approximate dimensions: 210 cm high × 127 cm wide
The cabinet has been in storage and is therefore dusty and will need a good clean. It has marks and wear consistent with its age and previous commercial use; please see photographs. Sold in its current condition.
A really unusual statement piece that could work brilliantly as a retail display, haberdashery/shop fitting, bottle or glassware display, book storage, prop/theatre piece, restaurant or pub feature, or characterful home storage.
Collection only due to its size and weight. Buyer will need to arrange suitable transport.
