Complete hi-fi-quality surround sound DVD and TV system

Description

This is a complete surround sound television and DVD set up. It comprises hi-fi quality speakers and home theatre receiver with DVD player and 43” plasma TV. It also comes with all interconnecting cables and a steel/glass TV stand.

It sounds amazing and has given us many hours of immersive film viewing, but we need the space in the room for something else.

It comprises:
• Arcam AVR350 7.1 channel home theatre receiver – I have it set in 5.1 and use the 2 spare channels to bi-amp the L and R front speakers
• Pioneer PDP-436SXE is a 43-inch HD plasma TV with built in Freeview
• Toshiba SD220E DVD player
• 2 x Monitor Audio Bronze MR4 floorstanding speakers for the front
• 2 x Monitor Audio Bronze MR1 speakers for the rear
• Monitor Audio Bronze Centre
• The Monitor Audio MRW-10 subwoofer

Detailed description (from the internet – I can’t vouch for every number!)

The Arcam AVR350 is a 7.1 channel home theatre receiver with a 100 W PC continuous power output into 8 ohms (or 120 W PC into 2 channels) and features HDMI switching, Dolby/DTS decoding, and various analogue and digital inputs/outputs. It supports up to 24-bit fixed point double precision for digital audio processing, has 7.1 analogue inputs, and includes a 2-way HDMI video/audio switcher. (The remote system works, but we don’t have the controller).

The Pioneer PDP-436SXE is a 43-inch HD plasma TV with a 1024x768 pixel resolution, a contrast ratio of 3000:1, and a brightness of 1100 cd/m². It features a Freeview digital tuner, an analogue tuner, and multiple connection ports, including HDMI, component, and composite video inputs. It also includes a built-in 2x13W speaker system with virtual surround sound and a sleep timer. (The television no longer responds to the remote so is switched on using the button on the front).

The Toshiba SD220E DVD player is a single-disc player that supports a wide range of media formats, including DVD-R, CD, MP3, DVD-Audio, VCD, and CD-R/RW. It features include virtual surround sound, DTS and Dolby Digital (digital out only), a dialog enhancer, and parental controls

The Monitor Audio Bronze MR4 is a floor-standing speaker with a frequency response of 36 Hz–30 kHz. It handles 150 W RMS and features a bass reflex porting system. The speaker is a 3-way design with a 1" gold dome C-CAM tweeter and two 6.5" MMP II drivers (one for bass, one for mid-range).

The Monitor Audio Bronze MR1 speakers have a 5.5” MMP II bass/mid driver, a 1” C-CAM gold dome tweeter, and a rear-ported bass reflex design. They have a frequency response of 55 Hz - 30 kHz, and an power handling of 70 W RMS.

The Monitor Audio Bronze Centre is a 2-way sealed speaker with a 1” C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter and two 6” C-CAM bass-mid drivers. It has a frequency response of 50 Hz — 30 kHz.

The Monitor Audio MRW-10 is a 10-inch long-throw subwoofer with a 100W RMS Class D amplifier, rear-ported bass reflex cabinet, and a frequency response of 30Hz to 120Hz. It features a 10" MMP II long throw driver, selectable Bass EQ profiles (Music/Movie/Impact), phase control (0-180°).
