Description
A lovely vintage globe made by British toy manufacturer Chad Valley dating to late 1950’s.
Tin construction with a wood effect tin base.
Height. 27cm (10 1/2”)
Base diameter 18.5cm (7 1/4”)
Weight 600g
Condition Used however -
No dents or major scratches.
In good condition for its age with a nice sheen to the surface.
Some slight discolouration/oxidation (see photo).
Revolves smoothly.
A world time feature allows the determination of the time at any point on the globe - Set the hour graduation on the Greenwich longitude line. The time at any particular place can then be read at the point where its longitude line meets the clock.
Quite an image of the world geography at the time and to be reminded of the likes of Bechuanaland, Patagonia etc. A piece of history!
Collection preferred, could perhaps deliver locally or £4 postage.
