Description
This is a fine Regency period mahogany "Grecian" style sofa dating to the early 19th century (circa 1810–1820).
It features classic late Regency/George IV neoclassical lines with sweeping, elegant proportions.
The exposed wood frame displays deeply carved rosettes, fan-shaped palmettes, and elegantly scrolled end rails.
The base is supported by thick, ring-turned, and vertically fluted baluster legs, a foundational signature of high-quality early 19th-century British cabinetry.
It retains its original cylinder-shaped bolster pillow alongside a matching fabric-covered squab cushion.
Current Condition: The wood frame has noticeable scuffs, missing trim finish near the bottom edge, and the olive-green velvet upholstery has wear and stains..
Restoration Potential: Because the underlying mahogany structure and carved elements are structurally solid, it is an excellent candidate for re-upholstery or sympathetic restoration.
