Spindle & Drive Information
The spindle is a very heavy-duty unit with a strong bearing setup and continuously variable transmission, giving a useful speed range from 50 RPM up to 3000 RPM — suitable for a wide range of machining work.
The spindle motor is 2 HP single phase, and can be run using an inverter drive for even more spindle speed control.
Please note:
The inverter previously used to run the spindle has been removed, but a replacement can be purchased here:
Inverter drive: Replacement inverter drive
This allows the spindle to run from a 240V supply.
Control / CNC Conversion
The original motors and control system have been disconnected and replaced with NEMA 34 stepper motors.
A recommended controller setup is:
Controller: Mach3 CNC 4 Axis Controller
