Description

Large C.20th Vintage Woodland Lake Landscape Oil Painting – Signed C. Williams

Brief Description:

This is a large, beautiful 20th-century vintage Oil on Canvas Landscape Painting by listed British artist C. Williams.

This wonderfully atmospheric work depicts an idyllic countryside landscape, with an enchanting woodland setting, a meandering country pathway, tranquil waters and beautiful mature trees silhouetted against an expansive evening sky.

The beautifully composed scene draws the viewer's eye along a winding pathway towards the distant tree-lined landscape, whilst the still waters of a foreground pond reflect the soft, golden light of the setting sun.

Of particular appeal is the magnificent sky, which has been beautifully rendered in delicate shades of golden yellow, powder blue, dusky pink and soft lavender.

The artist has demonstrated considerable attention to detail throughout, particularly in the finely observed foliage, slender tree trunks, delicate grasses and natural reflections upon the water.

The composition combines wonderfully soft, romantic colouring with intricate landscape detail, creating a captivating sense of depth, tranquillity and atmosphere.

The painting is signed by the artist, C. Williams, in the lower left-hand corner.

The work is mounted within an impressive, substantial-quality decorative wooden frame, finished in attractive warm gilt and bronze tones, with beautifully detailed carved-effect mouldings and a contrasting cream-coloured inner slip.
