Description
Painted around 200 years ago at the start of the 19th century, this watercolour painting of an Italian Neapolitan fishermen bidding farewell to his wife and child before setting sail is in excellent condition. It is unsigned.
It is 7 inches square and is in a hand painted wash line mount and distressed gilt, glazed frame. Outer frame size 15 inches square. Ready to hang.
It has the label on the back stating that it is from an album of watercolours, prints and sketches which belonged to Elizabeth Moreland in 1832. She was married to Isaac Taylor, part of a wealthy family of architects and inventors.
