Bass player wanted for soul/funk/hiphop instrumental covers band

We are newly formed instrumental covers band looking for a new bass player to fit the bill.

At the moment we are a guitarist and a drummer in our 30s.


If you like listening/playing along to instrumental soul/funk/R&B/hip hop beats then this is the band for you

This project is all about tightness, finding the groove and feeling that pocket. Also to make the songs are own and playing them our own way.

Idea is simple, get an hour set together, record then gig!!!!!

We are not just looking for the usual pub circuit gig but also to play at bars/clubs, restaurants and festivals. More unique places.
So this will be more lowkey/quiet but upbeat and tight. It’s all about the musicianship and how we interact with each other when we play rather than relying on playing loud to get people’s attention.

Open to more suggestions but this is just the start (basics). The music can be from the 50s to current as long as it suites.

Standards are high and please only apply if you like this type of music. As we play at a low volume every note is heard so there is nowhere to hide. This is why we are looking for a top bass player.

We both have full time jobs so rehearsals will be around once every 2-3 weeks in Wandsworth (south west London) so if you can’t travel to this location please don’t reply. And practicing at home is a must otherwise we will just end up going in circles and wasting everyone’s time.

If you’re looking to earn money out of this then please done reply. Not to say we won’t earn anything but we do it more for the love of music not money.

Type of bass player we are looking for is funky, likes this type of music, open to suggestions and understands how to play with a drummer and hold a groove and find that pocket. Someone who just loves to play and play with others.
