Guitar & Vocal lessons: Professional teacher in pop and rock (£50/session)

Description

I am a driven Pop and Rock musician with a fresh perspective. I have a degree in Creative Musicianship and have been teaching guitar and vocals full-time for the last seven years. Apart from teaching music, I also write and record my own music, and I front a function band that plays weddings and parties all over the UK. I believe that every student is unique, and together we are going to work on what makes you special.

After working with students of all ages and backgrounds, both in group sessions and privately, I know how to tailor the lessons to the students' needs and aspirations. We will work together, at your own pace, with material that inspires, motivates, and pushes you out of your comfort zone to discover things you did not think you could do.

As a guitar teacher, a few things we will look at:

• Learning your favourite songs
• Techniques such as strumming, fingerpicking, palm muting, hammer-ons, pull-offs, bending, tapping
• Understanding scales, modes, and chords
• Learning how to read music from sheet music, charts, or tabs
• Songwriting, recording, and production of your own song ideas and material
• Improvisation and writing your own solos
• Accompanying your own singing if this is something you want to learn.

As a vocal coach, a few things we will look at:

• Finding your unique voice
• Extending your vocal range
• Voice qualities (chest voice, mixed voice, head voice, falsetto)
• Vocal effects (vocal distortion/ rasp/ twang)
• Audition preparation (Performance anxiety/ stage presence)
• Vocal harmonies and music theory
• Songwriting, recording, and production of your own song ideas and material
• Prevention of vocal damage
• Basics of guitar and piano playing and accompaniment

Our sessions are 50 pounds per hour. (Travel fee applies depending on your location)
