1936 Mandille et Roux 98cc REDUCED TO £1400 !!

For sale is an absolutely superb little Mandille et Roux 98cc Motorcycle from 1936 . Mandille et Roux was a French company with a factory in Paris where this little bike was made in 1936. It is in absolutely original condition with a terrific oily rag patina which has taken 90 years to develop !!
I purchased the bike as a non runner just over two years ago and spent a good deal of time getting it into A1 running order . Initially the engine would not run for long without tightening up and almost seizing . I found that this was due to the new piston which had been fitted by the previous owner was fractionally oversize which I rectified by reducing it in dia. by .0015".With that problem solved I found that the original composition c/shaft seals had disintegrated and needed replacing. I rectified this by machining the crankcase bearing journals and fitiing modern seals .
The tyres had just been fitted when I bought the bike.The carb. which was fitted to the bike when I bought it was non -original but last year I managed to obtain from a dealer in Holland an original Sachs carb. correct for the engine . ( cost £200!)
Over the past couple of years I have joined in several club runs and meets and the bike always attracts much attention.
Unfortunately knee arthritis now prevents me from enjoying the bike so it has to go !
