🏍️ POSSIBLE SWAP — 2024 SYM NH-T 125 FOR
FULLY-FAIRED SPORT 125 🏍️
Putting this out there to see if anyone might be interested in a swap.
I have a 2024 SYM NH-T 125 Euro 5 and I'm looking to move over to a proper fully-faired 125cc sport bike.
Straight swap would be ideal. I'm potentially willing to add a few hundred pounds for the right bike if there's a genuine difference in value, but I'm not looking to spend a fortune just to move from one 125 to another.
I'm not massively bothered about getting something the exact same age as mine either. Something reasonably recent would be nice, but condition and suitability matter much more to me than year or mileage.
WHY I'M LOOKING TO SWAP
There's no hidden reason I'm trying to get rid of the SYM. I simply want a different style of bike.
My eventual higher-cc bike is going to be a sport bike, but realistically I may be on a 125 for a while longer while I work towards my full licence.
So rather than spending that time on an adventure-style 125, I'd rather move onto a sport 125 now and get used to the sport-bike shape, riding position and general feel before eventually moving onto a higher-cc sport bike.
💷 SALE OPTION
A swap is my first choice, but if nobody has a suitable sport 125 to swap, I'm also happy to sell the bike outright.
Sale price: £1,600 — fixed price, no offers.
If it sells instead, I'll simply put the money towards buying a sport 125 myself.
I'm not desperate to sell, so £1,600 is the price I'll take for it. If you're interested in buying rather than swapping, feel free to message me.
🏍️ WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR
• 125cc fully-faired sport bike
• Roadworthy and road legal
• Current MOT
• Mechanically sound and running properly
• V5C present
• Ideally reasonably close in age to mine, but I'm flexible
• Mileage genuinely doesn't bother me — mine has done over 13,000 miles anyway. If yours has considerably more, that's fine with me as long as it's mechanically sound and has been looked after.
• Cosmetic marks/scratches don't particularly bother me either
I'm 6'2", so this is important: I need something I can actually fit on reasonably comfortably. I'm aware a sport bike will naturally have a different riding position, but I don't want something I'm ridiculously cramped on.
I'm open to things such as Lexmoto LXR/LXS, Yamaha R125, Suzuki GSX-R125, Kawasaki Ninja 125, Aprilia RS125, or similar fully-faired sport 125s.
🔧 ABOUT MY BIKE
2024 SYM NH-T 125 Euro 5
Currently around 13,600+ miles and still being ridden, so the mileage will continue increasing.
I'm going for full transparency because I'd rather somebody know exactly what they're considering before either of us wastes time travelling.
Mechanically, maintenance and repairs have been carried out when needed.
Work includes:
• New chain
• New front and rear sprockets
• New tyre / new tyre being fitted
• Complete clutch assembly previously replaced
• Previous taxi-related damage around the shifter/foot-control area has been repaired
Some repairs and maintenance have been carried out privately by family. When something couldn't be dealt with that way, it was taken to a family friend who owns a motorcycle garage and carries out motorcycle repairs.
Because some of this was arranged privately, I don't have invoices or a documented repair/service history for all of the work carried out. I'm mentioning that upfront rather than claiming paperwork or history that I can't provide.
I'm happy to explain what I know has been repaired/replaced and show the relevant areas of the bike.
⚠️ OTHER THINGS TO KNOW
The oil level has previously been checked by three garages and found to be fine. The oil warning light can intermittently appear, which I've been advised is an indicator/sensor issue rather than the bike actually being low on oil.
The right front brake lever is bent slightly inward intentionally because it makes it easier for me to grip. It isn't damage I'm trying to hide.
🎨 PANELS / COSMETIC CONDITION
This is the main area where the bike isn't perfect.
There are scratches and scuffs on some of the panels, which I'll show clearly in the photos.
Some of the panel fitment also isn't perfect. I've used aluminium ties on some of the panels to keep them tight and stop them rattling/moving around.
The aluminium ties are NOT what is holding the panels onto the motorcycle. If the ties are removed, the panels remain attached to the bike. They're there as additional securing points to stop the panels rattling.
I'm including close-up photos of these areas because I don't want to hide them or have somebody turn up expecting an immaculate bike.
From normal viewing distance the bike still presents well, but the cosmetic imperfections are there and I'm being upfront about them.
🤝 WHAT I EXPECT IN RETURN
I'm not expecting somebody to offer me a showroom-condition motorcycle.
Mileage isn't an issue. Cosmetic imperfections aren't an issue.
I'm primarily interested in whether your bike:
• Runs properly
• Is mechanically sound
• Is roadworthy/road legal
• Has a current MOT
• Has a V5C
• Is a proper fully-faired sport 125
• Is suitable for someone who's 6'2"
Ideally I'd find somebody who wants to go the opposite direction — sport 125 → adventure-style 125 — so we can make a fair trade and both end up with the type of bike we actually want.
🛡️ INSURANCE BEFORE MEETING
Before arranging a serious meet-up/travelling for a swap, I'll need the registration number of the bike you're offering so I can run an insurance quote on it.
That's purely because insurance prices can vary massively between different 125s and there's no point either of us travelling if I then discover I can't realistically insure it.
I'm obviously happy for you to carry out whatever legitimate checks you want on mine as well.
📍 LOCATION
Liverpool / North West.
I'm willing to travel a reasonable distance for the right bike.
If you're interested, send me the make/model, year, photos, condition, current MOT situation and what you're thinking trade-wise.
I'm happy to answer questions about mine and provide additional photos of anything you want to see.
I'd rather be completely transparent from the beginning so both sides know exactly what they're getting.
