Description:18 original vintage wooden Indian tea chests.
These are authentic export crates used to ship loose tea from India to the UK, most likely dating from the mid-20th century (1960s–1970s). Many still have the original stencilled markings such as “INDIAN TEA”, “PRODUCT OF INDIA”, shipping numbers and export codes.
Tea chests like these were traditionally used to transport around 50kg of loose tea from Indian tea estates to British importers and docks, making them a great piece of genuine trade history.
