For sale is my Wharfedale / Albion TCT35C 35W 1x12 valve guitar amplifier.

These amps were designed and made by Steve Grinrod, who was head of design at Marshall for many years and then CEO of Vox. This amp was his baby and sat under his instruction. The Wharfedale badge was the earlier variety; they eventually had a cosmetic change to Albion (his own brand) but they are functionally exactly the same.

A surprisingly versatile and relatively uncommon all-valve combo from Wharfedale’s TCT series.

The TCT35C is a 35-watt twin-channel valve amp using 2x 6L6 output valves and 4x 12AX7 preamp/driver valves, paired with a 12” speaker. Channel A is voiced more towards cleaner American-style tones, while Channel B gives more British-style clean through overdrive sounds.

Both channels have their own Gain, Drive, Bass, Middle, Treble and Volume controls, with additional master controls for power amp response, digital reverb and output level.

One particularly useful feature is the switchable 33% output mode, reducing the amp to roughly 12 watts for home use or smaller environments while still allowing the output stage to be worked harder (useful for home playing!).

Also features a series effects loop, 8/16 ohm speaker outputs, switchable feedback response and footswitch connection (footswitch is included but not photographed).

This example is in really good used cosmetic condition as shown in the photographs and is fully working. It’s never been gigged. I’m only selling as part of a general clear-out ahead of a house move. Serial number TCT35C000885.
