Description
Georgian (c. 1820) mahogany chest of two short drawers over three graduated cockbeaded drawers fitted with pressed ring handles. As it’s commonly found on chest of drawers of this age, the handles are not original and were replaced at some point, though they are sympathetic to the period, and I think they look quite smart. The drawers are raised on splayed-bracket feet with a shaped apron.
Overall, a solid and sturdy chest of drawers with a lovely patina. All drawers run smoothly.
Condition: Good solid condition, visible signs of use that do not affect function. Some dents, cracks and marks especially on the sides. The item has been restored over the years hence veneer and cockbeading replacements can be seen. Please study all photos closely for the best visual idea of cosmetic condition.
