Description
This is an original, vintage G Plan Sierra teak bureau with fold-down desk, bookcase and cupboard with drawer. This beautiful mid-century unit is a versatile piece of furniture and is a fantastic space saver.
E. Gomme's G-Plan Sierra range is iconic British furniture, primarily known for its quality teak sideboards and cabinets from the 1950s-1960s, featuring clean lines, practical storage (drawers, cupboards, drinks cabinets), and distinctive Scandinavian-inspired design, making it highly collectible for its style, build quality, and timeless functionality.
It’s a two part, freestanding piece where the upper section simply sits on the base and is secured to the lower section with brackets to the rear.
The upper section features two, open, adjustable shelves and the original green back panel which shows though the shelves is in very good order.
The pull down door creates the writing desk. The left hinge is missing. It features pigeon holes and a small drawer inside and this section can be height adjusted or even removed if preferred.
The lower unit features a partially sectioned and lined drawer and a lower, double door cupboard with a further adjustable shelf inside. The two doors swing with ease and have working closures.
There are minor knocks and scuffs here and there. Overall, the wear and tear is light and in line with what you would expect with a vintage piece of this age and nature. The unit is well-made and the G Plan label can be seen on the inside of the main drawer.
Available for collection only, from a ground-floor flat in the middle of Bramhall village.
