We are delighted to offer this very handsome Thonet bentwood rocking chair. Design by the great Josef Frank & Joseph Hoffmann for Thonet. The rocking chair is known as model number 10. This example is an early 1950s period chair & is is clearly branded on the underside frame with the blue ‘ Dinette ‘ pinned badge. A classic steam bent wood ebonized black lacquered frame with original amber gold Bergere cane weave seat & back rest panel. Fabulous curvaceous scrolls & well proportioned design. A comfy, solid & relaxing chair.

A very nice mid 20th century example in nice original condition. The weave is in excellent order damage. Minor age related surface scuffs the black finish but overall remains in good solid usable condition.

Displays very nicely indeed & would make for a fabulous & very stylish addition to any contemporary or retro themed room.
