Description
This vintage original rocking chair was bought from the Shaker Shop, Chelsea London in the late 1980’s. Combining traditional craft techniques with design restraint Shaker design is both nostalgic yet timeless.
Classic Shaker is guided by traditional style and design principles, the proportions are evolved and refined, creating the perfect profile. Inspired by minimalist functional beliefs, the chairs are designed and hand-made to stand the test of time.
Constructed from the highest quality oiled seasoned maple the back and arms feature a turned wood detail.
The signature natural canvas woven tape seat is rust orange. The tape is a heavy duty 100% cotton canvas webbing which has been yarn dyed with fade resistance in mind. If you’d like to change the fabric colour these chairs are easily rewoven yourself with tape and instructions available from a variety of UK suppliers.
Easy to maintain and perfect for busy households or those just looking for an easy and care-free fabric. This elegant statement piece is the perfect addition to a stylish, contemporary home bringing comfort and style.

Condition
This vintage chair has been lovingly cared for and is in excellent condition. Structurally solid there are a few minor superficial age-related wear and tear scuffs consistent with a piece of this age. It looks great and is ready to use - a reluctant sale due to downsizing.
