Large Preowned, newly upholstered Footstool

Description

Length 104 cm
Breadth 52 cm
Height 31 cm

A lovely large footstool which I have just finished upholstering.

The base (legs and frame), appears to have perhaps been attached to a coffee table at some point. Other than clean and wax, I have not done anything else to the base. There are plenty of signs of previous use on the wood but this is just the signs of its history. You could, if you choose, paint the base but I like the darker oak colouring as it matches the fabric and tells a story of it's history and renovation.

The top was removed and the top which was a fibre board (which had sagged) was replaced with a piece of old ply from my store. I added a piece of wood across the middle of the stool which should prevent any chance of sagging from the plywood.
The old stool filling has been replaced with new fire retardant upholstery foam then covered with a beautiful piece of leafy upholstery fabric.

I think it has turned out well but please remember I am not a professional upholsterer of furniture restorer, just trying to stop items going to landfill (where this was heading) by brining them back to life as best I can.
