This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2025 on Sunday the 9th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. , In 1955, the improved KR200 was introduced with a larger 191cc engine, revised bodywork, an improved turning circle and floor-mounted accelerator and clutch,The tandem seating allowed centralised weight distribution irrespective of occupants, providing the little tricycle with handling characteristics that outclassed its contemporaries,Four forward and four reverse gears made for rapid progress in either direction with a top speed of 62mph, if you were brave enough,Available in the UK from 1955 onwards, production ceased in 1964 after some 30,000 KR200s had been built,First registered in the UK in 1975, this very early 1956 example has been in long term ownership since 2013 and is presented in very well maintained condition,Finished in red, with a distinctive bubble canopy and chrome trim, it retains its original design features, including the early handbrake type and early dashboard,Powered by a 191cc Fichtel & Sachs two-stroke engine, delivering a unique driving experience with its motorcycle-style sequential gearbox and handlebar yoke steering,A true example of the microcar genre, reflecting its aeronautical origins, the KR200 was previously owned by another long time member of the Messerschmitt Owners’ Club, highlighting its cherished status within the community,Accompanied by a file documenting its restoration, as well as a Dating Certificate confirming the features of the early cars, together with some ephemera from past owners’ club concours events,
