This Lot will be sold at auction at Ascot Racecourse; on Saturday 12th September.\n\nOffered with a rare factory hardtop\nPreviously restored\nManual gearbox with overdrive\n\nRegistered new in 1974, this V8 powered convertible has been in the current vendor’s ownership since 1990 and benefits from an extensive previous restoration. The restoration included a comprehensive rebuild of the V8 engine by DLRD Race Engines, which is believed to have covered only around 5,000 miles since, together with a full respray in smart red coachwork. The result is an attractive and characterful example that has clearly been enjoyed and maintained over many years.\n\nThe interior is trimmed in black leather and presents well, with only minor blemishes commensurate with use. The car has been converted from automatic to its current specification of a manual gearbox with overdrive and is offered with the particularly desirable and relatively rare hardtop, providing an alternative to its open-top configuration. Accompanied by a comprehensive history file containing numerous invoices and sundry bills, old MoT records and invoices relating to the restoration, the car also comes with a current UK registration document. The MoT is valid until August 2027, and the car has recently benefited from a fresh service prior to sale. With over three decades of ownership, an extensive restoration, rebuilt V8 engine, manual overdrive gearbox and rare factory hardtop, this is an appealing example of a classic British V8 convertible ready for its next custodian.
