Description
For sale are 10 Daniel Platt Blue Brindle Staffordshire rope topped edging tiles.
They measure approximately 9 inches wide and 7 inches high. The bottom section is 3/4 inch thick and the rope section is 2 inches thick.
9 are complete and one has one of the bottom sections missing - please see pictures.
They have some minor chips as you would expect from things of this age.
Daniel Platt moved from Hartshill to Brownhills Tunstall in 1897 to take advantage of the local Etruria Marl.
These tiles came from my mothers garden in Hartshill so may have been made prior to them moving to Tunstall in 1897.
The tiles are impressed Platts England on one side and on the other BCM / DP & S.
