Software Engineer (Test Systems)

Description

Our client, a leader in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Software Engineer specialising in test systems to join their team based in Rochester. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions for test systems within electronic systems. The position is offered on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop software for test systems used in electronic systems

Maintain and enhance existing test software solutions

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the software meets system requirements

Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects and issues

Document software designs, processes, and test results comprehensively

Ensure compliance with relevant Defence & Security standards and regulations

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the software development process

Participate in code reviews and testing activities to ensure high-quality deliverables

Job Requirements:

Experience in software engineering, specifically for test systems

Strong understanding of software development life cycle and methodologies

Proficiency in Labview and/ Or TestStand

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues

Effective communication and collaboration skills within a multi-disciplinary team

Knowledge of Defence & Security standards and regulations is desirable

Ability to work on-site in Rochester for four days a week, with flexibility for xjnqpsq remote work on Fridays
