Location: HMP Foston Hall, Derbyshire, DE55 5DN

Pay Rate: £14.56 per hour

Hours: Up to 37 hours per week

Contract: Rotational Role

Join Our Team at HMP Foston Hall

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Instructor (Band 3) to join the team at HMP Foston Hall. This is a rewarding opportunity to support prisoner rehabilitation by providing structured work experience within prison workshops, helping individuals develop workplace skills and positive working behaviours.

As an Instructor, you will supervise prisoners in non-specialist workshop environments, ensuring activities are delivered safely, securely and to a high standard while promoting a positive and productive working culture.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in the selection and induction of prisoners into workshop activities.

Train prisoners in health and safety procedures, COSHH requirements, and the safe use of tools and equipment.

Support individual learning and development needs within the workshop environment.

Set work schedules, monitor productivity, and maintain quality standards.

Supervise and manage prisoners safely, securely and decently during workshop activities.

Conduct required prisoner searches and maintain security procedures.

Maintain accurate attendance, pay, and work records.

Contribute to prisoner reports, sentence planning, ACCT documentation, VRIRs, SIRs and IEP reviews where required.

Assist with health and safety risk assessments and workshop reviews.

Order materials and monitor stock usage to meet operational requirements.

Attend relevant meetings and provide administrative support for workshop activities.What We're Looking For

This is a non-operational role with workshop and prisoner management responsibilities.

All successful candidates will be subject to security clearance and identity checks.

External candidates will be required to complete a six-month probation period.
