This one just blows me away as we have just had confirmed this was the first UK Norton 650SS Dominator, we have just had confirmation from the Norton historical records now that it was THE first UK bike ,having been previously told this is one of the first batch of 650ss, most of which came in blue, we've now had it confirmed its the first one and was fitted from new with a rev counter ,folding kickstart, chrome chaincase and black seat ,and was sent to the dealer Hooley in Nottingham on Oct 61 which is the are we collected the bike ,has some very rare things about the bike and I'm happy to be told more about it as I'm no expert, so first off its a 1 owner bike from new ,it came from the bereaved family of its owner ,the bike was fitted with its alloy front wheel from new and retains its original wrapped in brown paper in a plastic bag ,I was told it has been off the road since the 70s but it was definitely correctly stored covered in grease and properly drained with oil in the petrol tank etc , we have cleaned the grease off and revealed what you see today and its stunning , some fresh pet cocks and a clean up of the magneto and she started straight away and sounds as nice as I've ever heard , it has matching numbers and its a nice number and looks special to me , the colour of the frame is rare and has obviously worn this from new , you could specify any colour but few chose this blue with most going to the states,it has the Lucas Racing Magneto, the chrome mudguards and chain guard were an option as were the 2 clocks and steering damper , these were a phenomenal handling bike in their day with the Norton Roadholder forks which this has and many were chopped up into cafe racers ,Tritons and the like and few remain and I'd bet none like this ,
it is still on the DVLA register but the bike has no v5 ,I'm reluctant to apply for one as that will add an owner ,I'm happy to do the process for the new owner so that they are 2nd in the logbook

Its one of those things ,I don't need to sell it and will probably kick myself once I have ,but I'm not using it and someone else may well get the pleasure .but please it doesn't matter if it stays or goes so lets not embarrass each other with daft offers
