Stunning Vintage Statement Amber Necklace, 25 Graduated Cabochon Beads 56g

Circa 1940’s/early 50’s, this unusual and beautiful piece belonged to my mother, bought by my father on their travels. It has barely been worn and there are no signs of wear and tear. Having kept for a few years, I’ve decided it should belong to someone who will wear and appreciate it.

Each cabochon bead is organically faceted, with colouration varying from gold to dark caramel and butterscotch. Many of the beads have fascinating inclusions of vegetation and would make stunning pieces in their own right.

The beads are wrapped with gold wire and the necklace has a gold shepherd’s hook fastening. (I cannot confirm purity of wire as not hallmarked but piece is slightly rose gold in hue and completely untarnished so potentially 9 or 14 carat).

The beads range in size with the smallest being 1.5cm x 2 cm and the largest being 2.75cm x 3.5cm. Total weight of necklace is 56g.
