[Overview/Summary/Key Features]
The CCITT V.35 I/O Tester is a hand held, light-weight, self-contained breakout and activity tester for CCITT V.35 recommended specification. The unit allows full access to all 34 signal lines and provides the ability to switch or disable 33 of these lines.
The switch for signal ground, line B, is disabled. This allows the LEDs to function for both the DTE and DCE side when this switch is opened. As a result, the operator is able to place the device between two pieces of equipment, open all the switches and monitor either piece of equipment independently.
The dual cables feature molded stress relief V.35 connectors which eliminate the need to carry additional patch cables to the job site. The LEDs are powered by the battery and are bi-color. Two types of circuits are provided in the equipment. Both are high input impedance and are powered by the battery rather than the data lines. One of these is the differential receiver circuit for the V.35 modem signals and the other is a single input receiver for the EIA RS232 control lines.
When a signal pair with CCITT V.35 character-istics of 0.55 volts ( 20%) is applied to a standard.
