2008 MINI Cooper 1.6 – MOT Failed – Spares or Repair
Description:
Selling my 2008 MINI Cooper 1.6 petrol. The car starts and drives and looks tidy for its age, but it has failed its MOT and needs repair work, so selling as spares or repair.
📋 MOT Failures:
• Front and rear subframes corroded and seriously weakened
• Parking brake efficiency below requirements
• Leaking injector (exhaust fumes entering cabin)
• Tyre cut deep enough to cords
⚠️ Advisories:
• Brake discs worn/pitted
• Coil springs corroded
• Minor oil leak
• Tyre worn on edge
💷 Garage estimate: around £2,000 for subframe replacement and associated work – not economical for me to fix.
