1978 MGB ROADSTER

1978 Mgb roadster 1.8, I bought this car in 2025 with the intention of recommissioning for my daughter to use - she has has just purchased an mx5 so as a result it is now up for sale.

It had been off the road since 2015, and came with many brand new parts ready to be fitted but as the previous owner was finding it more challenging to fit the parts it ended up not in use.

After cleaning out the fuel tank/replacing fuel lines/filter/cleaning carb and correcting the ht lead configuration on the newly replaced electronic distributor it fired up.

Then it was a case of fitting all the new parts to include seat covers(headrests are supplied)/carpets/door cards, clutch master and slave cylinders, front shock absorbers/springs/drop links, majority of suspension bushes, rear wheel cylinders and a host of other ancillaries.

4 brand new tyres as the date had expired on last ones.

Just been serviced to include oil and filter change, fresh antifreeze, new plugs and ht leads.

I’ve taken it out locally a few times and it drives really well, only issue is sometimes changing down from 3rd gear to 2nd it may take a few attempts - not sure if the clutch needs bleeding properly, still perfectly usable though. the overdrive works perfectly.

A lot of work invested but it has to go before winter so I can get the mx5 in the garage.
