Mercedes Avantgarde AUTO with AMG styling, we have owned this car for five years, covering over 60,000 of its miles, and we have been very happy with it. This is the first generation 2.2 engine and does not leak oil like the later ones.
I now have to use my car for work use and it’s too old to go on the works insurance so since the start of the year it’s not been used, we were going to keep it as just in case car but it’s not practical and sitting about won’t do it any favours.
Since owning it all but one of the ball joints has been replaced, the gearbox had a full service and overhaul, all belts and pulleys were changed, it’s always had genuine Mercedes service items and fully synthetic oil. Discs and pads and exhaust were replaced last year, all new brake hoses the year before
We have just put a year’s Mot on the car with no advisories so it should go for at least a couple of years with no issues.

• No rattling
• Runs and drives smooth,
• Cool Aircon,
• Everything works
• No oil leaks
• No coolant leaks
Seats are leather not the fake MBtex leather.
Offset wheels, Brembo brakes and boot spoiler are genuine Mercedes AMG CLK500 items and cost £1000
Kenwood cd player,with digital radio, usb, hands free etc etc they are still £200 new
Comes with some new genuine Mercedes service parts (worth 10% of the cars asking price)
Hard to price this car we paid 5k for it, low mileage mint CLK’S (we have had 3 over the years) sell for £10k while rough scruffy MOT failure parts cars sell for £800
This car is generally scruffy all over and there is some rust coming through on the rear arches (the only rust on the car)
I would hope it will go to a classic car enthusiast but it probably go to someone who just needs a cheap diesel car for a couple of years.
Will be sad to see this go, price is £1300 no offers until the car is driven. Hopefully it will find a good home
