Finished in metallic grey, the all-original paint still carries a showroom shine. Free from major dents or scratches, with only the lightest age-related marks at most, nothing unsightly that I can take a picture of. A truly elegant example of the iconic W164.

This facelift AMG edition, complete with the chunkier bumpers and factory 21" AMG alloys, is the real deal. Not a half hearted SE with shiny wheels bolted on, not a "up baged" special, it is factory correct and proudly original.

Inside and it feels like a time capsule. Pristine carpets, pet and smoke free barely used rear seats and the original stereo with SAT NAV adding subtle modern convenience. The part Alcantara/part leather interior is supple, clean and soft with no rips, stains, or sagging bolsters, roof lining or wear to the Armrest. It still smells right. Proper Mercedes. Not damp dog, just quality.

Under the bonnet sits the 3.0 V6 CDI turbodiesel, paired with a smooth automatic gearbox. Renowned for its simplicity and durability. No DPF tantrums, no EGR roulette, no dashboard Christmas trees. Just solid, proven engineering that’s far more interested in covering miles than visiting repair specialists.

On the road it does exactly what a proper Mercedes should. Starts first turn, rides beautifully with effortless grace, brakes confidently and shifts seamlessly. The suspension sits correctly and holds its height no sagging corners, no warning lights.

The only minor quirk is a very slightly pixelated instrument cluster (pictured) common on these, harmless and insignificant.

This ML remains unmodified. No aftermarket tinkering, no questionable upgrades. Just originality, dignity and presence.
