3.2 straight 6 Turbo Diesel factory spec No DPF (if only you could do that these days) , no swirl flaps or nasty plastic intake manifold that most the Mercedes range use of this era lovely crafted metal intake.
OM648 probably one of the best diesels made, easily gets 53mpg, lovely smooth power delivery loads of torque.

Super smooth 5 speed automatic transmission.

Double glazing, ice cold A/C and climate control, digital speedo activated, cruise/ speed limiter, Factory sat nav with TV and DVD playing facility, x4 working electric windows, electric tilt and slide large sunroof, silent vac operated locking and seat adjustment, electric fold mirrors, fully working front and rear park assist, tow bar with single electrics, factory xenon’s, Auto lights and wipers, electric steering column adjustment, usual multi point adjustment on front seats plus heated / electric fold auto dip dim door mirrors + interior mirror, rear vanity mirrors in the roof, rear separation climate control, built in old school phone cradle, Aux park heater, auto open boot with soft close function.

Air ride conversation to springs / coil overs…. Yes it’s slightly firmer than air however rides just like similar class vehicles on springs, it handles fantastic with zero body role and looks rather cool imo, plus all of the huge repair costs of air suspension is now eliminated (all of the hardware and pipe work all still left intact so could easily be reverted)

Original tool kit/fuses, first aid kit, and warning triangle with the spare wheel, plus a spare rear number plate for trailer.

Work done within the last month or so;

Full service, oil and filter change, air filter , fuel filter, x4 pollen filters special fit big carbon filters changed (not cheap) all using OE filters / oil, cleaned the EGR MAF and MAP while on and new G11 MPM coolant.

Recently had New front discs and pads (OE cross drilled Brembo) and rear pads

New ABS pump ECU (common fault)

SRS module repair for MOT (common fault)

No leaks or weeps anywhere.

Well sorted out vehicle, all the common issues have all been rectified ABS ECU/ SRS module, air suspension removal, no DPF to worry about or soft close doors with endless problems.

Just been on 500+ mile trip with an average speed of 67mph, A/C on continuously and it achieved 53mpg, was most definitely not eco driving either could have achieved much higher than 53mpg, unbelievable how such a big vehicle can achieve this kind of MPG.

Only issues are bit wear on drivers seat, warning on dash you just cancel off about air ride… press once that’s the only warning it gives for air ride no lights flashing or constant warning lights, it’s been mapped out correctly, plus small amount of lacquer peal on N/S/R arch (zero corrosion) , switch to open boot can be temperamental however button on key and interior button to open boot work perfectly.
