Mercedes-Benz has a reputation for comfortable touring cars, which was well established prior to the R107 SL making its first appearance in 1972. The brand's virtues were strengthened by the SL's ingrained quality, ease of use and mechanical hardiness. All this has made it one of the easiest classic tourers to own today.
