This exceptionally well preserved SL was first registered in March 1972, supplied by main dealers S.G.Smith to Mr. Eric J.P.C. Lombard Knight, the founder of Lombard Banking Ltd. Lombard were bankers to almost every business involved in the motor trade at that time. Mr. Knight kept the Mercedes-Benz for almost 20 years, before selling in 1991 via dealer L.Hunter Ltd to a Mr. Peter Rabin. Mr. Rabin kept the car in dry storage for the next 25 years until selling to the SL Shop in 2015, who then sold the SL to the next private owner at just 32,000 miles.
Now showing a mere 34,500 miles recorded from new, this is a very fine example of the purest form of the classic R107 model. The SL is finished in 717 Papyrus White, with a very rare full black leather interior, rear seat option, period correct and stylish painted hub-caps, drivers side only door mirror and original soft-top.
Offered complete with original service book, owner's manual and a thick file of historical documentation, this wonderful classic Mercedes makes the ideal partner for the summer months.
