ROLE
LAUNDRY Production Operative
DESCRIPTION
To participate in the production of all classifications of linen within daily time constraints to predetermined laundry standards.
The shift pattern will be on 4 days on 2 days off basis 7am - 4pm with two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch
RESPONSIBILITIES
* The post holder will be required to work in all sections of the Laundry as directed, handling linen belonging to the company and its customers to maintain laundry standards.
* Close co-operation with other staff will be necessary, to maintain production flow and within time constraints.
* The receipt and sorting of soiled linen into the correct categories relative to the various types of fabric being processed to maintain classification protection.
* To assist the loading, operating and unloading of washing machines, tumble dryers, presses, steam tunnel and operating any other machinery in the laundry as directed, to become multi skilled. xjnqpsq
* The moving of linen between laundry production areas and customers as necessary, e.g. distribution and/or emergency stock movement ensuring that customer daily linen requirements are met.
* The packing/unpacking and dispatch of all types of linen to ensure stock levels are maintained.
* To collate, record and maintain details of ward or department requirement and items processed in the laundry to trace and maintain use.
* Any other general work, including the cleaning of laundry equipment and areas within, and the local outside areas around the proximity of the laundry to maintain a clean orderly department
