Description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with UK regulations, ensuring vehicles meet required standards before they are driven on public roads. Duties

Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models, adhering strictly to legal and safety standards
Inspect vehicle components including brakes, lights, tyres, suspension, and emissions systems
Accurately record test results and prepare documentation in compliance with DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) requirements
Identify repair needs or defects and advise customers accordingly
Maintain testing equipment to ensure it remains calibrated and in good working order
Assist with general vehicle maintenance tasks as required, including minor repairs and adjustments
Ensure the workshop maintains high standards of cleanliness and organisation

Requirements

Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar automotive inspection role
Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in vehicle diagnostics and repairs
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicles or parts
Full UK driving licence with valid MOT testing certification or equivalent qualification recognised by the DVSA
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Excellent communication skills to explain findings clearly to customers
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
