Senior Classic Engine Mechanic/Engineer – Vintage Cars & Historic Yacht (Travel Role)

Location: UK / Europe travel (primary yacht currently in Spain)

Position: Full-time, long-term opportunity

I am seeking a highly experienced, hands-on senior mechanic to help maintain and preserve a private collection of 26 vintage petrol and diesel vehicles (1914–1970) together with a 100-year-old, 50-metre historic yacht.

This is not a modern “parts-changer” role. I am looking for a true engineer — someone who understands how machines work, can diagnose, fabricate, repair, rebuild, and plan long-term mechanical preservation.

### The Role

You will be responsible for:

- Mechanical maintenance, diagnosis and overhaul of vintage petrol and diesel engines

- Restoration-grade repairs (not simply replacing parts)

- Preventative maintenance planning and lifecycle management

- Advising on economical repair vs rebuild strategies

- Supporting ongoing maintenance of a historic motor yacht in Spain

- Travelling as required between locations

This is a trusted, long-term position working directly with the owner.

### Ideal Candidate

- Extensive experience with pre-1980 petrol and diesel engines

- Strong fault-finding and mechanical rebuild capability

- Comfortable working on classic cars, historic machinery, or marine engines

- Practical fabrication / workshop skills highly valued

- Organised, reliable, and able to plan maintenance schedules independently

- Enjoys problem-solving rather than routine servicing

- Clean driving licence

- Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally

- Fluent English

- Professional, discreet, and trustworthy
