Description

An excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join a well-established company.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.

Salary: Competitive Salary, Depending on Experience & Qualifications.

Location: Northampton, NN7.

About The Role:

Are you an experienced mechanic with a passion for keeping HGVs, PSVs, and Vans running at their best? If so, we would love to hear from you. The company is a long-established, family-run business looking for a skilled and reliable HGV Mechanic to join their friendly workshop team — where hard work, good banter, and quality workmanship all come as standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing HGVs, PSVs, and Vans. Carrying out maintenance and repairs to keep vehicles safe, roadworthy, and reliable. Using your diagnostic skills to identify faults efficiently and effectively. Assisting with breakdowns and urgent repairs when needed. Working as part of a team.

Candidate Requirements:

Has proven experience working on HGVs, PSVs, or Vans. Has strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Takes pride in producing high-quality work. Can work independently as well as part of a team. Holds a Class 1 or Class 2 licence (advantageous but not essential). Knows their way around a toolbox better than most people know their own kitchen drawers.

Company Benefits:

Highly competitive pay, with wages tailored to your experience, skills, and qualifications. Ongoing opportunities for training and development. A friendly working environment. Plenty of workshop banter to help the day go quicker. Tea, coffee, and the occasional debate over who’s “borrowed” the 13mm socket this time.

If you feel that you have the relative skills/attributes to fulfil this role then please apply now for immediate consideration.

The employer fully supports Equality in Employment. All employment is decided based on qualifications, merit and business need.
